Delete your AISTeA account

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to erase your personal data. This page tells you exactly how. Your request is honoured within 30 days; payment records are kept for 8 years to satisfy tax law, and backups are purged within 90 days.

1Delete from inside the app (fastest)

If you can sign in to the AISTeA app or web app, this is the quickest path:

Open the AISTeA app (Android or web) and sign in.
Tap your name / profile picture, or go to Profile.
Scroll to the bottom — under "Danger Zone", tap "Delete my account".
Re-enter your password to confirm, tick the acknowledgement box, and tap "Delete my account".

You will be signed out immediately. A confirmation message will appear with the exact purge date (30 days from the deletion request).

2Don't have the app installed? Email us

If you've uninstalled the app or can't sign in, email AISTeA support from the email address registered to your account, and we'll process the deletion within 7 working days.

Please include your registered email or phone number in the message so we can match the request to your account. If you write from a different email than the one on the account, we may ask for additional verification before processing.

What happens when you delete

✗ Deleted (within 30 days)

Your profile (name, email, phone, password)
Your learning history (chats, homework photos, quiz scores, study plans)
Your referral code (disabled immediately)
Unredeemed referral points
Pending physical-gift shipments (cancelled — won't be shipped)
Account preferences, notification tokens, session tokens

● Retained (legal obligation)

Payment / invoice records — 8 years (Income-Tax Act, 1961)
Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you
Server backups — purged within 90 days
For partners: payout records — 8 years (Income-Tax Act, 1961)

30-day grace window. Once you request deletion, your account is immediately locked but data is held for 30 days so a mistake is recoverable. To restore the account before the purge runs, email support@aistea.in within that window.

Special cases

Partner accounts with unpaid cash referrals. If you are an AISTeA partner and have qualified-but-unpaid cash referrals on your account, please email support first so we can settle the payout before the account is closed. The in-app delete button will block until your balance is settled.
School-managed student accounts. If your account was created by a school administrator, you may need the school admin to release the account before AISTeA can delete it. Email karthikeyan@aistea.in if you need help.
Children under 18. A parent or legal guardian may request deletion on behalf of the child by emailing support@aistea.in from the parent's email address with the child's registered phone/email.
